Picnic 2008 was held on March 29th, 2008 in scottsdale and the Indian School park. The day started early for those playing the finals for cricket. The match against two titans, the Chandler team and the Gilbert team, started at 8:30 AM and the Chandler team emerged the winner. The Volleyball finals started a little later at 10:00 AM between the Peoria team and the Anthem team. The hard fought battle was eventually won by the Peoria team. The last tournament was the Bocce ball tournament which was fought amongst four teams comprising of highly competitive ladies with one team emerging as the grand winner.
The Indian flavored barbecued chicken, pizza and corn-on-the-cob made for some excellent eating during the day, which was followed by fun games for kids and adults. For the kids, there was the classic three legged race, Candy-picking, and musical chairs. For the enterprising adults, there was lemon race, and Couple-balloon race. The afternoon ended with the classic game of tambola (A bingo like game) with some people winning and many others groaning that their numbers were not called.
